RB Harris fuels Frisco's victory over McKinney

Frisco isn’t projected to make the playoffs in 2011, but if running back Carlos Harris turns in more performances like the one he put in against McKinney last week, the Raccoons could sneak into the postseason in a District 9-4A that’s in transition.

Harris ran for 232 yards and three touchdowns on just 23 carries, powering Frisco (1-0) to a 39-26 win over the Lions (0-1).

Frisco has shuffled its personnel in its Wing-T offense. Three players saw time at quarterback in 2010, including Harris, who went 15-for-32 for 204 yards and four touchdowns. He led Frisco in rushing with 785 yards.

Eric Allen, one of the players who played QB last year, started the game against McKinney, going 2-for-3 for 28 yards and a touchdown.

Having Allen at QB frees up Harris to focus on running the ball, which could pay huge dividends for a Frisco program looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2007.

Frisco plays at Royse City (0-1) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
