Jesuit is out for revenge against No. 7 Coppell

7:30 p.m. Friday at Jesuit

When we saw them last: Coppell finished off Arlington 38-24, holding them scoreless after a first-half shootout. Jesuit hosted Houston counterpart Strake Jesuit, racking up over 500 yards of total offense in a 51-14 drubbing.

2010 result: Coppell blew Jesuit away 52-7, in a game where Coppell tallied over 600 yards of total offense. Current Coppell quarterback Jake Larson picked up some playing time, throwing for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

What’s at stake: Jesuit’s revenge for last year’s defeat. Jesuit is much stronger than last year and could catch Coppell off guard with a reloaded offense still trying to find an identity.

Key matchup: Jesuit’s front eight vs. Coppell’s offensive backfield. If Jesuit can get pressure in on Larson and force mistakes they can keep themselves in the game against a strong Coppell defense.

Players to watch: Jesuit will rely on DT Akuda Esin and LB Hank Toboolka to get pressure on Larson. On offense, Jesuit has the district’s best offensive talent from last season returning in wide receiver Jake Oliver.

Prediction: Coppell 17, Jesuit 14.
