Kidd set to move into second on assists list

HOUSTON -- Jason Kidd will probably move up a notch in the NBA record books in the second or third quarter against the Houston Rockets.

Kidd needs five assists to bump ESPN analyst Mark Jackson into second place on the list of all-time leaders. Kidd, who is third in the league this season with 9.4 assists per game, enters the game with 10,330 dimes in his career.

This will be the last time Kidd moves past anybody on the assists list. He has acknowledged that he has no chance to catch John Stockton, who retired with 15,806 assists.
