NEW ORLEANS -- The Mavs' recent rough stretch didn't really come as a surprise to owner Mark Cuban.
After winning 13 consecutive games, the Mavs have lost two of three. Cuban sees a team that needs a renewed sense of urgency.
"After that win streak, I think we relaxed some," said Cuban, who spent last week relaxing at his home in the Cayman Islands on a family vacation. "I just think it's natural."
Cuban cited the Cleveland Cavaliers as an example. The Cavs lost three consecutive games after their 13-game win streak, which the Mavs tied as the longest in the NBA this season. Cleveland has recovered to win 13 of their last 14 games.
The standings should provide a sense of urgency for the Mavs and the rest of the West playoff contenders below the Lakers at this point. Dallas is a half-game behind Denver for the No. 2 seed with 13 games to go.
