Stevenson wore a white jersey during shootaround, which typically denotes a starter. Reserves wear blue jerseys. However, color doesn't always dictate the starting lineup once game time rolls around.
Stevenson's only two starts this season came in consecutive games in late February. With Caron Butler out of the lineup, Stevenson started against the Los Angeles Lakers on Feb. 24 and played well defending Kobe Bryant. It earned him the start to nights later against the Atlanta Hawks.
Including logging 23 minutes prior to those two games, Stevenson played 75 minutes in a three-game stretch. Over the next 17 minutes, he's played just 102 minutes and just 25 minutes in the past 10 games that included three DNPCDs.
Regardless of who gets the start, Terry said the starters must set an energetic tone.
"It’s a big game for us. It goes in the mindset for us of we’ve got to come and be real aggressive," Terry said. "It’s no secret where we’re at right now. We’re fighting for playoff position and so this is a must-win game for us."
As for Marion, who is dealing with an oblique muscle strain on his left side, he said Wednesday that he's making progress, but remains in pain. He said he's taking it day-by-day and isn't sure what his status will be when the Mavs play at Portland on Friday and at Sacramento on Saturday.
