DALLAS -- As the saying goes, the Dallas Mavericks can't stand prosperity. After jumping out to a 16-2 lead at the 6:09 mark of the first, the Detroit Pistons have outscored the Mavs 26-12 for a tie game with 6:14 to play in the first half.
Tracy McGrady has been the difference-maker for the Pistons. He's handling the ball and distributing. He has four points and three pretty assists, the last turning into a Ben Gordon 3-pointer to tie the game at 28-28. McGrady also has a block and a steal in 10 minutes.
The Mavs are falling into a familiar trap. Dirk Nowitzki is scoring with little help. His jumper with 5:58 to go in the half put the Mavs up 30-28. He has 13 points. No one else has more than four.
