Roddy as starter era begins; Barea out

The official starting lineups are in and Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle has decided to start second-year guard Roddy Beaubois at shooting guard in his second game of the season.

Beaubois replaces DeShawn Stevenson, who gave the Mavs a solid two months of play as something of an emergency starter while Beaubois's broken left took longer than anyone expected to heal.

Beaubois came off the bench in his season debut Wednesday night, but Carlisle didn't waste any time bringing him in, waiting just 2:07. Tonight is Beaubois's 17th career start.

J.J. Barea is battling a fever and he will not play agianst the Suns. That is a big loss for the Mavs. Nobody has been hotter from the floor than Barea. In fact, he is the league's top 3-point shooter since Jan. 4.
