Jason Kidd won't get night off vs. Warriors

OAKLAND – Rick Carlisle ignored my advice. Jason Kidd won’t rest against the Warriors.

“At some point, we may [give Kidd a game off],” Carlisle said. “But he’s playing less than 32 minutes per game on this trip.”

Kidd is averaging a career-low 33.3 minutes per game, a reduction of almost three minutes per game from last season, when he was gassed by the time the playoffs rolled around.

The Mavs backcourt’s job might be a lot easier than usual against the Warriors. Golden State star Monta Ellis is questionable with an ankle injury.

UPDATE: Ellis participated in shootaround and will attempt to play, according to the Warriors' PR department. Golden State center Andris Biedrins and backup point guard Acie Law are out.
