Mark Cuban on Mavs: 'We believe'

DALLAS -- Mark Cuban continued to avoid the spotlight, even after his Mavs pulled off a stunning sweep over the two-time defending champion Lakers.

Cuban did come over to briefly chat with a couple of us reporters who waited in the Mavs' locker room well after the players had left. We twisted his arm until he gave us something for the record about the amazing playoff run that's picking up steam entering the Western Conference finals.

He offered only two words: "We believe."

Yes, that line has been used before. It was the '07 Warriors' slogan when they shocked the 67-win Mavs.

But it's certainly fitting for Dallas right now, considering the Mavs' dominance of a dynasty. Cuban probably couldn't put his pride in perspective with 1,000 words, and he's not about to try.
