First look at new Mavs is tonight at AAC

The delayed start to the regular season has turned the annual Fan Jam into WinterFest 2011 presented by ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM.

It will serve as the fans' first look at the retooled NBA champion Dallas Mavericks, who will hold an open practice at the American Airlines Center at 6 p.m. As has been well-chronicled over this frantic week of free agency, the Mavs no longer have Tyson Chandler, J.J. Barea, DeShawn Stevenson and others.

But, they do have some big names added to the roster in eight-time All-Star Vince Carter and two-time champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, Lamar Odom.

Doors open for WinterFest at 3 p.m. with a full slate family-oriented activities leading up to the open practice.

Here's the schedule and other information:

*4:00 – 5:00 p.m.: Exclusive player autograph session on Platinum level, plus Mavs Legends signing autographs on concourse.

*6:00 p.m.: Mavs open practice

AT&T Plaza: Ice skating will be available from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Skates will be provided for free.

Merchandise: All Mavs championship merchandise will be on sale for 30 percent off.

Other Info: Fans can enjoy ice skating, pictures with Santa and holiday movies like "Shrek the Halls" and "Merry Madagascar" on the jumbotron.

*Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support Operation Once in a Lifetime’s Toys for Troops. Everyone that makes a toy donation will receive a coupon for 50 percent off of championship merchandise. All toys will be given to children of soldiers this holiday season.

*Mavs Dancers will also be signing copies of their new 2012 calendar.
