At the half: Mavs 51, Nuggets 39

DALLAS -- The good news is the Mavs are winning. The bad news is guard Delonte West has left the game and won't return after suffering a fractured and dislocated right ring finger in the second quarter.

Dallas is already without Jason Terry, who has a strained quad, and Rodrigue Beaubois, who sadly lost his father today. That leaves the old-man unit of Jason Kidd and Vince Carter, plus youngster Dominique Jones to go against a Nuggets team that is also shorthanded. Nene joins Danilo Gallinari on the injured list.

Denver was hanging around, cutting the deficit to 37-32 after West left with his crooked finger. But the momentum quickly shifted with Vince Carter nailing consecutive 3-pointers followed by two Brandan Wright throw-downs for a 47-32 cushion on a swift 10-0 run.

Lamar Odom leads Dallas with 10 points. Dirk Nowitzki, Brandan Wright, Shawn Marion and Vince Carter all have eight points.

Rudy Fernandez, a one-time former Mav, sort of, has a nice game going with 14 points. The Nuggets overall, though, have very little semblance of an offense going on, shooting 31.7 percent.
