NEW ORLEANS -- The little guy has kept the Mavs in the game.
Rodrigue Beaubois, who made his first start since Feb. 3, has a team-high 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting. That includes 11 points in the third quarter, when he scored on a flurry of off-the-dribble floaters.
The Mavs have needed a brilliant performance from the up-and-down third-year guard to stay within striking distance of the West’s worst team. The Mavs’ more experienced scorers have come up small so far.
Dirk Nowitzki, who missed most of Wednesday’s loss in Memphis due to tightness in his lower back, has 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting. Jason Terry’s road woes have continued with two points on 1-of-8 shooting.
