Oh, how sweet it was ... and still is.
One year ago today, the Dallas Mavericks knocked off the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to win the franchise's first NBA championship. Dirk Nowitzki was named Finals MVP. And the Metroplex celebrated ... and celebrated ... and celebrated some more.
We're calling time out to turn back the clock, both on ESPNDallas.com and on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM. We've brought back some of the stories from that day, a photo gallery of the celebration and players with the Larry O'Brien Trophy, and we're playing your favorite montages on the air.
So what were your favorite memories on this happiest of Mav-anniversaries? Was it Mark Cuban letting Don Carter take the championship trophy? Was it an overemotional Dirk running back to the locker room to have a moment? How did you celebrate?
Celebrate with us. The glow from the Larry O' may soon shine bright in a new home, but for a few more days, the Mavericks are still the NBA champions. Enjoy it.
