Houston takes Jeremy Lamb, Mavs wait

DALLAS -- Another Mavs target is off the board. The Houston Rockets pulled off a trade for the No. 12 pick Wednesday and they used it to take Connecticut shooting guard Jeremy Lamb on Thursday.

Mavs GM Donnie Nelson talked Wednesday of trying to move up if they believed a top target would go around 11 or 12. A deal wasn't made and the Rockets, who also have the No. 16 and No. 18 picks, walk away with the 6-5 guard that averaged nearly 18 points a game.

The Rockets have been trying to acquire assets to make a trade with Orlando for Dwight Howard.

With the No. 11 pick, Portland took center Meyers Leonard from Illinois.

Dallas targets still on the board include John Henson, Kendall Marshall and Royce White.
