The Mavericks’ summer league squad is leaving Las Vegas after an 82-76 overtime win over the Spurs.
The Mavs finished the summer with a 4-1 record.
Third-year guard Dominique Jones, the star of the Mavs’ summer team, was limited to 11 minutes in Saturday’s win due to lower back tightness. He dished out five assists before taking a seat on the bench.
Second-round pick Jae Crowder wrapped up a strong summer showing with 21 points and six rebounds. Crowder, a rugged small forward out of Marquette who has a chance to earn minutes behind Shawn Marion, averaged 16.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals in the five games.
Center Bernard James, the Mavs’ other second-round pick, had nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks against the Spurs. James averaged 10.2 points on 60.5 percent shooting, 9.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in Vegas.
