Shawn Marion (left knee sprain) leaves early

DALLAS -- Mavericks forward Shawn Marion left Monday night's game due to a left knee sprain.

The severity of the injury was not immediately known. Coach Rick Carlisle said Marion would be evaluated Tuesday.

Marion had eight points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes against the Trail Blazers before being injured. Coach Rick Carlisle has called Marion the Mavs' best player while Dirk Nowitzki is out due to arthroscopic knee surgery.

Marion and Nowitzki are the only two players remaining on the Mavs' roster who played during the postseason on their 2010-11 championship team.
