Vince Carter (sick) misses shootaround

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Dirk Nowitzki plans to play Monday night after missing the previous two games due to a strained right adductor, but the Mavs might still be without one of their most productive players against the Thunder.

Sixth man Vince Carter did not attend shootaround, staying at the team hotel because he is ill.

"We hope he'll be able to play tonight," coach Rick Carlisle said.

Carter averaged 14.7 points on 45.2 percent shooting in January, including a season-high 29 points in the Jan. 18 overtime loss to the Thunder. The 36-year-old swingman got February off to a good start with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting in Friday's win over the Phoenix Suns.

Center Chris Kaman, who returned to Dallas last week for further evaluation of his concussion, has not rejoined the team.
