Dirk, Carlisle ill, questionable vs. Bucks

The Dallas Mavericks could be missing two critical pieces Saturday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Star Dirk Nowitzki and coach Rick Carlisle did not attend the Mavs’ morning shootaround because they are ill. Their status for the game against the Bucks is uncertain.

Nowitzki has played every game for the 13-10 Mavs this season, averaging 21.1 points and 6.0 rebounds.

Carlisle hasn't missed a game since Dec. 27, 2010, when assistant Dwane Casey coached the Mavs to a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder a day after Carlisle underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.
