Kevin Hartman breaks FC Dallas season shutout record in win

Kevin Hartman earned his 12th shutout of the season in FCD's 1-0 win over Chivas USA at Pizza Hut Park on Sunday night in the blistering heat. The temp in Frisco was still officially 101 at the END of the game. (Ouch.)

Hartman 12th shutout of the season, which leads MLS, breaks the previous individual FC Dallas shutout record held by Matt Jordan in 1999 when he had 11. The club actually had 12 shutouts that season, which the team and Hartman have now tied. This was Hartman's 105th shutout of his career.

The MLS record for shutouts is 16, a record held by Tony Meola. A quick count shows 11 regular season games left in this season making this the 12th shutout in 23 games this year, basically a shutout every other game.

Marvin Chavez continued his tremendous run of form with this 4th goal of the season and 3rd goal in the last 2 regular season games. Ruben Luna created the goal by not giving up on a ball heading out of bounds and then dropping it to the charging Chavez who has started in midfield on the night. Chavez's shot was deflected by found the back of the net for the games loan goal.
