When the FC Dallas reserves fell 1-0 to Houston on Tuesday night on the stadium field, Dallas had a guest player named Mark Barone, who most recently played at Michigan State.
FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman offered his thoughts on the 5-foot-11 midfielder:
“Mark Barone played four years at Michigan State, a good player. He was out here coming into preseason but he wasn’t ready to get drafted. I think he was still working on his education. He hadn’t played for a couple of months, so when we brought him in, he was really just trying to get himself in fine shape,” Hyndman said. “We sent him back home and told him to contact us when he was 100 percent ready to go. He just got in like a day or two before that reserve game.”
