Two second-half goals broke a scoreless tie between Dallas Tigres Academy 98B Gold and Kicks 98B in the Bracket B pool of the U14 division of Copa ESPN on Friday, sending Tigres to the semifinals Saturday with a 2-0 win.
Tigres’ Martin Gonzalez dribbled through three Kicks defenders in the box and ripped a shot past the keeper to net the first goal of the game.
Gilmar Juarez added insurance late in the match with a goal off a rebound after a strong Tigres offensive rush.
Tigres controlled possession for the majority of the match and had the best opportunity of the first half when Ivan Pena ripped a shot from distance, sending it just over the crossbar.
Tigres will face Guameru SC at 6 p.m. Saturday in one of the U14 semifinals.
