Mexico U-20 beats Paris Saint-Germain

FRISCO, Texas -- The Mexican U-20 national team held on to an early lead to defeat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in their Dallas Cup opener Sunday afternoon.

Raul Lopez scored in the 14th minute to build momentum for Mexico.

A through pass in the 36th minute landed in front of Guillermo Madrigal, who hit a wide open shot in the box to put El Tri up 2-0.

Lylian Gockaba Gockard shortened the gap with a goal in the 57th minute to bring PSG back into the match.

PSG had several counter opportunities against the aggressive Mexican squad, including two shots on goal in stoppage time, but couldn't equalize late.

El Tri takes on Dallas Texan USSF 17/18 Academy at 6 p.m. Monday on Field 6.

PSG plays Eintracht Frankfurt at 2 p.m. Monday on Field 6.
