Stars sign Vernon Fiddler, Radek Dvorak

The Stars have signed forwards Vernon Fiddler to a three-year, $5.4 million contract and Radek Dvorak to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Fiddler, 31, has played the last two seasons in Phoenix. He had 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists) in 71 games last season. He's an excellent checking line center and penalty killer. He's a pretty good faceoff guy too, winning 53.9 percent of his draws last season. He made $1.1 million last season.

Dvorak, 34, played with both Atlanta and Florida last season, registering 22 points (7 goals, 15 assists) in 66 games. He's a pretty dependable two-way player. Dvorak made $1.8 million last season, so he took a little bit of a pay cut.

With the Stars also signing D Adam Pardy to a two-year, $4 million deal, the Stars are now at just under $44 million in cap costs with three or four roster spots open. The salary cap floor is $48 million.
