About the Stars
The Stars (9-3-0) are coming off a wild 7-6 overtime win over Colorado Friday at American Airlines Center Friday. The Stars overcame 2-0, 5-4 and 6-5 deficits in the game and a squandered a 4-2 lead as well. Loui Eriksson’s second goal of the game, with 1:05 left in overtime, was the game winner.
“It was just one of those nights you don’t like as a coach but if you came to the game, you feel like you got your money’s worth,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan.
Sunday’s game kicks off a four-game road trip for the Stars, who will play at Carolina, Washington, Pittsburgh and Detroit.
Kari Lehtonen will start in goal on Sunday.
Injuries: LW Steve Ott (hip pointer) is out.
About the Hurricanes
The Hurricanes (5-5-3) lost 5-1 to Washington in Raleigh on Friday. Carolina scored early in the game to take a 1-0 lead, but Washington scored the next five goals.
"I don't have an explanation for it, but we did not have the fire in order to win that game," Carolina coach Paul Maurice said. "And that's the bottom line. Whether it's your passing, your hitting, whatever it is."
The Hurricanes are now 2-4-1 over their last seven games.
