About the Stars

The Stars (25-21-2) come out of the break in 10th place and three points out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Stars activated captain Brenden Morrow from injured reserve Tuesday, giving them a full lineup for the first time since early in the season.

“We have no excuses moving forward,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “We’re healthy, we’ve had a break and we got to regroup. We have to do a few things better – our power play and some D zone stuff – but I think our best hockey is coming.”

Kari Lehtonen will start in goal Wednesday for the Stars.

Injuries: None

About the Ducks

The Ducks (16-23-7) came out of the break with a 4-1 victory at Phoenix Tuesday night. The Ducks trailed 1-0 after the first period, but scored three goals in the second, all of them by Andrew Cogliano.

“The message (after the first period) was to just get the rust out. We had been on the break. The plan was to come out and respond in the second,” Cogliano said on the Ducks television broadcast. “It was good that our line could contribute tonight.”

Anaheim improved to 9-1-1 over its last 11 games.

Injuries: G Dan Ellis (groin) and RW Devante Smith-Pelly (foot) are out.
