Stars open camp in Prince Edward Island

The Stars will open their 2010 training camp in Charlottetown, capital city of the eastern Canadian province of Prince Edward Island.

PEI is the home province to Stars centers Brad Richards and Steve Ott.

The club will hold physicals and testing Sept. 17 in Frisco before departing to Canada. The first practice will take place the next day with on-ice training sessions at the MacLauchlan Arena at the CARI Complex, which features two sheets of NHL-regulation ice. Practices are open to the public.

The team will skate for three days in Charlottetown and will hold an intrasquad scrimmage Sept. 19 before returning to Dallas Sept. 20. The Stars will be back in time for the preseason match Sept. 21 against Tampa Bay at the American Airlines Center.

The Stars' regular-season slate begins Oct. 8 at New Jersey.
