The Dallas Stars have confirmed that Texas Stars defenseman Severin Blindenbacher is out with concussion-like symptoms following a minor car accident last week. The Swiss defenseman, who missed his third straight game Tuesday night, is listed as day-to-day.
News of the accident surfaced in Swiss media reports earlier today.
"Fortunately no one else was injured,” Blindenbacher told a Swiss site about the accident, which apparently left the defenseman’s car and another car with some damage.
The 27-year-old Blindenbacher, who was signed by Dallas as a free agent in July, had a strong showing during training camp and the preseason. He was assigned to Texas just before the season. He had one assist in three AHL games before he went out of the lineup.
Texas won Tuesday night, defeating Peoria 3-0 in Cedar Park behind a 38-save shutout from Richard Bachman, who was making his first start of the season.
