The Dallas Stars are looking to raise awareness about organ donation by holding Taylor’s Gift Night at American Airlines Center Saturday night.
Taylor’s Gift is a local organization created in honor of Taylor Storch, a 13-year-old Coppell girl who died after a skiing accident in Colorado in March of this year. Taylor’s parents decided to donate their daughter’s organs, which helped save five lives.
The Stars are offering discounted tickets to Saturday’s game, where fans will be able to donate to the cause, sign up to be organ donors or receive blue Taylor's Gift wristbands for a small donation. The Stars also are donating proceeds from ticket sales to the Taylor’s Gift Foundation.
During warm ups Saturday, both Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche players will tape their sticks blue in recognition of Taylor's Gift and those sticks will be donated to charity.
