Here are the details from ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun, according to a source, on the deal for goalie Kari Lehtonen from the Thrashers. The particulars:
The Thrashers will get prospect Ivan Vishnevskiy as well as a fourth-round draft pick in exchange, the source said. The 21-year-old Russian defenseman was the Stars' first-round pick, 27th overall, in the 2006 NHL entry draft.
Lehtonen is earning $3 million this season and is a restricted free agent July 1.
Lehtonen, by the way, has not played in an NHL game this season. He's been recovering from offseason back surgeries and was in Chicago of the AHL for a two-week conditioning stint. He last NHL game, in fact, was last April with the Thrashers.
He's 26 years old. This certainly signals that he's the goalie the Stars plan to go with into next season and beyond because he's a restricted free agent.
