A few notes not related to Jamie Langenbrunner from this morning's skate at American Airlines Center. There is, after all, a game tonight against the New York Rangers.
There wasn't much new on the injury front. Toby Petersen (leg) and Matt Niskanen (hand) were both at the StarCenter in Frisco this morning. They're both out tonight.
Karlis Skrastins (head) was at the skate, but not on the ice. He's out as well.
"He's symptom free again today," Stars coach Marc Crawford said of Skrastins, who was injured in a collision with Niskanen on Wednesday. "The next step is he sees some of the doctors the next day or so and we'll see where he is at. All signs are looking positive for Karlis."
Some of the New York media were asking about Sean Avery being back in town. Here's what Brenden Morrow said.
"A lot of the guys in this room weren't even around when that all went down," Morrow said. "Every year teams are different. We'd love to not still be paying for his contract, but there's nothing we can do. It's all the cliches, it's just another game. We're trying to stay on top of our conference and within grasp of Detroit and Vancouver. It's a big game. The Sean story is more about selling papers than what we really talk about in the locker room."
Kari Lehtonen in goal tonight for the Stars.
