Monday practice update

The Dallas Stars were back at practice this morning in Frisco. Here are some notes.

Jamie Benn (shoulder) and Tom Wandell (shoulder) both skated prior to practice, but they are not expected to play in of the three games this week. The Stars host Vancouver Tuesday and then play at Boston on Thursday and at Philadelphia on Saturday.

"They are both nowhere near being in the lineup," said Stars coach Marc Crawford. "I don't suspect they'll be in this week, but it's a good sign that they are skating."

Asked if it could be a couple of weeks for Benn and Wandell, Crawford said: "I don't know about that, but I would be surprised to see them play before next week."

The Stars' first game next week is Wednesday, when they host Phoenix.

Jeff Woywitka (shoulder) practiced today. He might be able to return tomorrow.

There's really not much new on Toby Petersen (leg).

The Stars brought up Aaron Gagnon and Travis Morin from the Texas Stars and both players practiced with the team this morning.

Kari Lehtonen will get the start in goal tomorrow.

Brad Richards and Loui Eriksson had the day off since they were returning from All-Star weekend in Raleigh. Eriksson, who had two goals and two assists in Sunday's game, was in the building and received a lot of congratulations from his teammates.

"It was fun. I had a good time," Eriksson said. "It was my first time and I was excited to go and see all the players there. It was a fun two days. It was a fun game yesterday and we won."
