About the Stars

The Stars dropped their fourth straight game and fell to 1-7-1 since the All-Star break with a 5-2 loss at Vancouver on Saturday.

“It’s no fun losing,” said Stars coach Marc Crawford. “Our guys obviously are feeling the pressure of being in a race and not being at your best. We know the way out of it and the way out it is through hard work. You can’t do anything but really hone in on the work ethic.”

The Stars are 2-9-1 in their last 12 games overall.

Kari Lehtonen will start in goal for the Stars Tuesday.

Dallas made a trade Monday, acquiring D Alex Goligoski from Pittsburgh in exchange for LW James Neal and D Matt Niskanen. Goligoski is expected to play Tuesday.

Injuries: F Jamie Benn (shoulder), F Krys Barch (orbital bone) and F Adam Burish (orbital bone) are questionable. Brad Richards (concussion-like symptoms), D Nicklas Grossman (hip) and F Ray Sawada (shoulder) are out.

About Devils

New Jersey won its seventh straight game, topping Carolina 4-1 in Raleigh Saturday night. The Devils, once left for dead in the playoff race, have climbed to within 10 points of eighth place in the Eastern Conference thanks to a 15-1-2 record over the last 18 games.

“I know we still have a huge hole to get out of,” said forward Brian Rolston. “I would be lying to you if I didn’t say that the playoffs are in the back of our minds, but we have to continue playing the way we are and whatever happens, happens.”

The Devils are 9-0-1 in their last ten games.

Johan Hedberg is expected to start in goal Tuesday.

Injuries: F Zach Parise (knee), D Bryce Salvador (concussion), D Matthew Corrente (shoulder) and D Matt Taormina (ankle) are out.
