Hershey tops Texas Stars for title

Nobody gave Hershey as tough of a battle as the Texas Stars did this season, but in the end it was the Bears' year.

Hershey beat the Stars, 4-0, on Monday night to win the Calder Cup Finals, four games to two.

Hershey won an AHL-record 60 games in the regular season then lost only three games while winning its first three best-of-7 playoff series.

The top affiliate of the Dallas Stars won the first two games of the finals before the Bears roared back with four straight wins. Hershey outshot the Stars, 36-22, in the clinching victory.

The Bears’ 2010 playoff roster featured 11 players who appeared in the NHL with the parent Washington Capitals this season.
