We're going to try to bring you a quick pitching matchup for each game this season. And Opening Day features RHP Scott Feldman against RHP Shaun Marcum.
Feldman (0-0, 0.00 ERA): He earned the Opening Day start because of his 17 wins from 2009 and the way he led the pitching staff after moving from the bullpen to the rotation in late April. Feldman, who just signed a contract extension through 2012 last week, 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA in four Cactus League starts. He had 10 strikeouts and five walks in 15 1/3 innings and made steady progress all spring. Feldman was 0-1 with a 7.04 ERA in 7 2/3 innings against the Blue Jays in 2009.
Marcum (0-0, 0.00 ERA): The 28-year-old Marcum did not pitch in the majors last season as he recovered from elbow ligament replacement surgery.
