Today's lineup vs. Mariners (and notes)

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Our first weekend series of the season is tonight at the Ballpark. Former Rangers outfielder Milton Bradley returns, as does former Rangers third base coach Don Wakamatsu, who is now the Mariners manager.

Rangers manager Ron Washington said Ian Kinsler (high ankle sprain) will not work out before tonight's game. Instead, Kinsler will get some work on Saturday.

"He missed the last three weeks of spring training. That means a lot because it showed how much we missed him," Washington said. "What we're doing is trying to just err on the cautious side. We don't want him back here until he's ready because we want him back one time, and we don't want him back and then something happens, and then he has to go back on the DL."

*The Rangers are not hitting the ball. Yeah it's only been three games, but they're hitting just .168, second lowest in the majors to the Chicago White Sox. Vladimir Guerrero and Nelson Cruz have 11 of the Rangers' 16 hits. "I think sometimes people react to what they may have seen in the past," Washington said. "We don't have the same offensive team. We're a different offensive team and we got quite a few young kids up in there trying to find their way. Sometimes when you start a new major league baseball season, they may try too hard, but each day that comes and goes and we will relax and we will begin to get it done." Michael Young said they've had some woeful at bats. More on that later.

*Josh Hamilton, who had the dayoff Thursday afternoon, is expected to play the entire weekend.
