ARLINGTON, Texas -- Matt Harrison gave up one run on a wild pitch and had just given up his third consecutive hard hit ball for a base hit when Mariners' base runner Franklin Gutierrez tried to score from second on a liner into left field.
Rangers left fielder Josh Hamilton scooped and fired and easily gunned down Gutierrez, who had just rounded third as Hamilton scooped up the ball. Not sure why Gutierrez had the green light, if indeed he did. He was the second out of the inning. Instead of runners at the corners with one out, Seattle was left with a man at first and two outs. Milton Bradley struck out swinging to end the top of the first with the Mariners up 1-0.
