Guerrero remains out of Rangers lineup

The Rangers' Vladimir Guerrero, who was scratched from Wednesday's game after a freak batting practice accident sent him to the hospital, remained out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Chicago White Sox.

A foul ball hit by Guerrero before Wednesday's 9-5 win over the White Sox ricocheted off the top of the batting cage and struck him above the left eye. X-rays showed no structural damage, and Guerrero said his vision was fine. He insisted Wednesday that he could have pinch-hit if needed.

Craig Gentry will start at left field for the Rangers. Michael Young moves back to third base from the DH spot, which Josh Hamilton will occupy.

Texas is shooting for a three-game road sweep of Chicago.
