Hamilton extends streak, sets record

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Josh Hamilton's hard-hit single to right in the third inning was his 48th hit in the month of June. It also extended his hitting streak to 22 games, a career high.

That's the most hits in any month by a Rangers player in history. The previous mark was 47 held by Frank Catalanotto in August 2001 and Mickey Rivers in August 1980.

Hamilton was batting .470 coming into the game (47-for-100) and is currently 1-for-2. The club record for average in one month is .472 by Mark McLemore in June 1996.
