OAKLAND, Calif. -- Starter Derek Holland went six shutout innings in his Triple-A Oklahoma City start on Saturday, giving up four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
Holland, who has dealt with rotator cuff inflammation and knee issues this season, threw 95 pitches with 59 strikes. He had eight ground ball outs and seven fly ball outs.
It's unclear if Holland is ready to return to the majors after this start, but he is getting his pitch count up. After Rich Harden's struggles on Saturday, Holland might be a candidate to replace him if the club feels he's fully ready. Stay tuned.
