Signs point to new Rangers Class A affiliate

All signs point to the Rangers moving their high Class A team to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Atlanta Braves are moving their advanced Class-A affiliate to Lynchburg, Va., for the 2011, opening a spot for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. The Carolina League franchise, which is owned by Rangers general managing partner Chuck Greenberg, has planned a major announcement for Friday.

The move would come on the heels of the Rangers' new partnership with Nolan Ryan's Round Rock, Texas, franchise. The Rangers and Round Rock signed a four-year agreement Thursday to make the Express the club's Triple-A affiliate.
