Rangers fans will see some of the regulars in Monday's game with the Mariners. Second baseman Ian Kinsler and third baseman Michael Young were among the players who told manager Ron Washington they wanted to be in the lineup tonight.
"This is the first title we've had for 11 years and the fans have been great this year," Kinsler said. "The excitement has been building all year. We were able to clinch on the road. We'd like to have done it at home, but we wanted to get it done as fast as possible. We want to run onto the field to a lot of happy people in the stands."
Texas is at home all week against the Mariners (for three games) and the Angels (for four games) to end the regular season. They'll start the playoffs next Wednesday.
