Vladimir Guerrero puts Rangers up 5-0

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Vladimir Guerrero was the latest Texas Rangers crush a David Price offering, taking his to dead center, a one-hopper off the wall that scored Josh Hamilton for a 5-0 lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the top of the fifth. Guerrero's RBI tested the patience of the Rays fans who filled Tropicana Field with boos.

Hamilton led off the inning by reaching on a error, a bad play by Sean Rodriguez, who tried to backhand it and then made a poor throw to first in the dirt that Carlos Pena couldn't scoop. Hamilton then stole second on Price's first pitch, sliding head-first right onto his sore ribs. But, he showed no ill-effects as he scored on Guerrero's crank.

Meanwhile, Cliff Lee is cruising after a rough start. He got out of a bases-loaded jam in the first and four of the first eight Rays batters got hits. But, he's put up two consecutive one-two-three innings and has retired the last nine Rays he's faced.
