Cliff Lee sets ALDS strikeout record

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Texas Rangers pitcher Cliff Lee became the all-time leader in strikeouts for an ALDS (since 1995) when he fanned Carlos Pena to end the sixth inning for his seventh strikeout of the game and 17th of the series.

Lee passed Randy Johnson (1995 and '97) and Mike Mussina (1997), both of whom recorded 16 strikeouts.

Lee and the Rangers have a 3-1 lead over the Tampa Bay Rays heading into the bottom of the seventh. Lee is looking to improve his career postseason record to 6-0.
