Colby Lewis escapes danger, holds lead

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis extinguished a two-out Yankees rally to preserve a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second.

With Nick Swisher at second after a hard double and Jorge Posada at first after a walk, designated hitter Lance Berkman smoked a curve ball to right. The sailing liner was just within the reach of right fielder Nelson Cruz, who grabbed it over his head.

Earlier in the inning, Robinson Cano hit a drive to the wall that Cruz caught.
