Josh Hamilton goes yard in 1st

NEW YORK – The fans welcomed Josh Hamilton to Yankee Stadium with a hearty boo before his first at-bat.

Then he really gave them reason not to like him.

Hamilton pulled a 2-1 pitch over the right-field wall for a two-run homer to give Cliff Lee an early cushion. It was his second homer of the series, with both coming in the first inning.

The Rangers, who have scored in the first each game this series, managed to beat Tampa Bay in the ALDS despite a poor series by Hamilton. He appears to be getting hot against in the ALCS.
