Rangers' relievers get out of jam in 8th

NEW YORK -- The Rangers' bullpen flirted with failure in the bottom of the eighth but got out of the inning unscarred.

The bases were walked full, with Derek Holland, Darren O'Day and Clay Rapada allowing one free pass apiece.

Old lefty Darren Oliver, the Game 1 goat when he walked both batters he faced, got out of the jam. Oliver got Nick Swisher to fly out to shallow center field and then got help from Michael Young, who made a nice stab of a hard-hit grounder to his left for the inning-ending fielder's choice.

Rangers 7, Yankees 3 entering the ninth.
