Rangers score two, claw closer, 8-4

SAN FRANCISCO -- Bengie Molina and pinch-hitter David Murphy each drove in a run in the top of the sixth to creep the Rangers within 8-4 of the San Francisco Giants, while also chasing ace Tim Lincecum after just 5 2/3.

So both pitchers are gone before the sixth inning could end with 12 runs scored on 17 hits.

The Rangers scored both runs in the sixth with two outs after Vladimir Guerrero and Nelson Cruz struck out swinging. Lincecum looked to be cruising after a 1-2-3 fifth inning, but he walked Ian Kinsler. Mitch Moreland followed a shot that hit Lincecum and the Murphy, pinch-hitting for reliever Darren O'Day, singled to right, driving in Molina.

With runners at first and second, Elvis Andrus struck out swinging to end the rally.
