Rangers hire VP of ticket sales, marketing

Rangers managing general partner and CEO Chuck Greenberg continues to form his front office team, adding to the group that's already in place. On Wednesday, the club hired Todd Taylor as executive VP of ticket sales and marketing.

Here's part of the club's official release on the hiring:

Taylor, who is completing his fifth year with the Milwaukee Brewers, will be responsible for all facets of the Rangers ticketing operation, including season, individual, and suites sales and services and oversight of the ticket office.

We have added a very successful, passionate, and experienced executive to head a critical area of our business group,” commented Rangers Managing Partner and CEO Chuck Greenberg. “Todd Taylor has an excellent track record of growing ticket revenues, and he will be a great addition to the Rangers family.”

Taylor joined the Brewers as Vice President, Consumer Marketing in March 2006 and has been responsible for all aspects of ticket sales and services, suite sales and services, consumer marketing, and branding. Building a fully integrated ticket sales and marketing team to maximize ticket sales results led to Milwaukee drawing over three million fans in both 2008 and 2009, including a franchise record total of 3,068,458 in 2008. The Brewers have experienced major increases in season and group ticket sales in the five seasons under Taylor’s watch.

Prior to his coming to Milwaukee, Taylor was Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service for the Portland Trail Blazers from 2004-2006, when he led the NBA club’s ticketing and retail operations. He spent the previous seven years with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League as Senior Account Executive, Director of Ticket Sales, and Vice President of Ticket Sales. Taylor graduated from The Ohio State University in 1995.

Taylor, who will report to the club’s Chief Operating Officer Rick George, is expected to join the organization on a full-time basis by the end of the month.
