As expected, Frank Francisco has accepted arbitration for the Rangers, meaning he will pitch for Texas in 2011. The club and Francisco have to work out the details of a deal.
That's certainly good news for Texas. Francisco is expected to be healthy from a strained right lat muscle and ready to go for spring training. He would likely be the club's primary eighth-inning setup man, like he was for much of 2010. He's an important power arm in the bullpen.
Cliff Lee, as expected, declined arbitration and becomes a free agent. The important thing there is that if Lee, a Type A free agent, signs elsewhere the Rangers would receive a first-round pick and a supplemental first-round pick in the 2011 draft.
