Ron Washington is a manager who follows his gut, and his instincts led the Rangers to their first World Series berth last season.
Now, Washington's gut is telling him that free-agent treasure Cliff Lee will be back in Arlington to help the Rangers remain world champion contenders.
"That he'll be here," Washington said Saturday when asked what his gut told him about where Lee would land.
Washington said he doesn't have any idea how long Lee will take to decide whether to stick with the Rangers, don Yankee pinstripes or perhaps take an offer from a team that hasn't been reported.
Washington was speaking from a luncheon where he was inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame.
